Minutes of 43rd Annual General Meeting
Held on Wednesday June 19th 2019 at Edenfield Cricket Club

The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to the 43rd Annual General Meeting.
Minutes of the previous AGM held on 18th July 2018, were approved as being a correct record. There were no matters arising.
Chairman’s Report
Support has continued for the ECNF in its dual activities of developing a Neighbourhood Plan and representing residents interests in the the examination of the Local Plan.
The Seniors Afternoon Tea held on October 25th was successful, attended by just under 40 seniors, who enjoyed entertainment by the Tin Pot Pets, bingo, a quiz and afternoon tea. Thanks to Colin and staff who hosted the event.
The Remembrance Service was held in the Memorial Gardens on Sunday 11th November 2018 followed by refreshments at the Community Centre. Also to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1 Liz Latham raised funds and was assisted by committee members to put up large poppy on posters on lamposts in the village bearing the names and a short fact sheet about each of the 51 village men who lost their lives in that war.
Carol singing was held on the last Friday before Christmas, attended by about 100 residents, accompanied by a brass band and the ususal mince pies and mulled wine.
Defibrillator training The second session was held at the Rostron Arms on Friday 19th Feb , and more sessions can be arranged if there is a demand. Thanks to Dave for hosting the event.
Litter picking A number of committee members joined with the Methodist church, guides, brownies and rainbows, in a village litter pick . Over 20 bags were filled !
Fell Race This year 136 runners joined the race on June 2nd . Our thanks to Cath Hignett and her husband Jeff for organising the race over the last few years. In future the event will be organised by Matthew Clawson and thanks to him for taking it on. Thanks also to ECC for hosting the event.
Cricket Match – This was called off due to rain
Fete This was also called off due to rain. The forecast was bad all week and on Friday it was decided to cancel it early to avoid charges. We still have the marquee which was bought for £200.
Other matters Simon Holland has obtained funding to create a secret garden in a small area behind Bury Road and work is about to begin . EVRA is merely facilitating the cashflow from |Tesco/Proffetts and no EVRA funds are used. There has been a slight change to the consitution, indicting that if the Tesco funds are not used, they are passed to a body of a similar type. EVRA has now adopted a Health and Safety Policy and a Data Protection Policy as required.
Proffitts – Plans to improve the childrens play area are ongoing and a consultation document has gone out for comment .
Edenfield in Bloom has continued this year.
Treasurers Report The Treasurer distributed copies of the Financial Statement for the period ended 31st December 2018, and explained the principal features of the report. This report can be posted on the website or individuals may request copies from David Fisher by phone or email
Re-Election of Committee Members In accordance with recent practice all existing members , present or not are deemed to have offered themselves for re-election. Alan Ashworth proposed, Jenny Mead seconded and all members were duly re-elected.
The Chairman closed the meeting by thanking everyone for attending .
